Purpose

In this world of uncertainty and rapid change life may seem like a jigsaw puzzle without the box.  Where do you start to put the pieces together?  How do I find the answers?  Who am I?  Does my life have a purpose and meaning?  How do I know right from wrong?  When life is over, then what?

The answers to these questions depend on the existence of God. If God exists, then there is meaning and purpose. If there is meaning and purpose, then there is right and wrong and the choices we make affect life here and in eternity. If there is no God then life ultimately means nothing we are just dust without hope. Somewhere there must be truth, and it is the truth that sets free.

The Bible reveals God, His purpose, His plans.   It tells us about Him. It is a guidebook given to us by a loving God. It is our resource for answers of meaning and purpose, of right and wrong. It answers all the great questions of life as well as the everyday problems we face.  It answers the question of “after this life is over, what then?”  It proclaims Jesus Christ as the way, the truth and the life. Understanding the Bible and applying its truths to life will change you forever, it gives direction in the decisions of life, peace of mind in the problems of life, and security in the uncertainties of life.

The local church is God’s family, a place where our Father in heaven meets with his children. It is a place to grow in our knowledge of Him.  As we grow in our knowledge of Him, we also grow in our love for Him and for one another. Church is where we learn to live as He lived.

At Grace Bible Baptist Church we are committed to:

Living by the Authority of Scripture

Proclaiming the gospel of Christ

 Equipping disciples for ministry involvement

 Loving and encouraging one another

Corporate and Personal prayer and worship

Influencing community values

We are a Baptist church by conviction and principle, not by affiliation. This means that we believe the basic Bible teachings for which Baptists have historically stood. As Baptists, we believe the following:

Bible – The Bible is the final authority in all matters of faith and practice.

Autonomy – The local church is an independent body accountable to Jesus Christ and not to a hierarchy outside the local assembly.

Priesthood – Every believer is a priest of God and may enter into His presence directly through Jesus Christ our Great High Priest.

Two Ordinances – Baptism by immersion in water and Communion.

Individual Soul Liberty – Every individual has the liberty and responsibility to believe as his own conscience dictates.  No one is forced to assent to any belief against his will.  Each person will face the reward or consequences of that belief personally.

Saved, baptized membership – Local church membership is limited to individuals who give credible testimony of personal faith in Jesus Christ and publically identify themselves with Him in believer’s baptism.

Two Offices – Biblically mandated offices of the church are pastor and deacon.

Separation of Church and State – God established both churches and civil government, neither should control the other. We do believe each person should practice their faith publically.

As an independent Baptist church, we are not affiliated with any particular Baptist denomination or ruling body. Because of this we can support our own missionaries, select our own leaders, and support institutions that believe as we believe. In short, our church answers to the headship of Jesus Christ rather than a denominational body. There are currently more than 10,000 independent Baptist churches in America and thousands more throughout the world.

We would love to have you stop by for a visit in one of our services. If you have any questions about our church and what we believe, we would be happy to meet with you.
